It is Mayor Toralf Heimdal who confirms to NRK that there has now been a positive result on another person from the Setermoen camp. On Wednesday, the first two positive test results came in.

– We can’t say we’re in control. We have an unknown source of infection. Only when we have figured it out can we begin to end this and have a complete picture of the situation.

The two who were diagnosed with coronary heart disease on Wednesday participated in a party with nearly 200 participants on Saturday, writes the Armed Forces forum.

The mayor does not know if the third also attended the party.

The mayor is concerned about what may have happened to the transmission of the infection at the front and rear of the event.

– The uncertainty, of course, is related to what happens before the event and if there have been after parties. This is perhaps where there is the greatest danger of transmitting the infection, Heimdal says.

– It should have been canceled

It is the Norwegian Health Directorate that is granting licenses for events such as Setermoen Camp this weekend. The mayor of Bardu believes that the party should have been canceled.

– It is not a particularly good assessment of those responsible here. There was an infection in the armored battalion about fourteen days ago. Then you should have seen the seriousness and canceled the party.

The fourth covid-19 detected is an isolated case. He is an American soldier sitting in isolation.

Before the weekend, 400 American soldiers arrived in Setermoen. They have been in quarantine since their arrival.

– This is an isolated case of infection that has nothing to do with the other cases, says Heimdal.

On Wednesday, a total of 15 people were tested in Bardu. They were people with cold symptoms, also from the civilian population.

On Thursday, 70 people associated with the two new COVID-19 cases were tested, which were discovered on Wednesday. Both people work in the same department in the Setermoen camp.

Between 30 and 40 people from the department in question have been quarantined.

On Thursday, the Armed Forces Forum writes that the two people infected by the crown participated in a party on Saturday, “The Order of the Black Minks,” with nearly 200 participants.

Participants in the event were in cohorts, and a request was submitted prior to the event to maintain the ten-day quarantine prior to the event.

– These cohorts are the same people who work together on a daily basis and sat remotely during the event. So did individuals, according to army spokesman Eirik Skomedal.

Both the municipality and the Armed Forces are doing extensive work to map the origin of the infection. It has not been concluded that the event may be related to the infection.

Eirik Skomedal has not responded to inquiries from NRK.

Koronasmitta employed in Tromsøbadet

Also in the municipality of Tromsø, three new cases of infection were confirmed on Thursday.

One of the infected jobs as a part-time employee in Tromsøbadet, confirms general manager Siv Hege Helsing Schrøen.

– Together with the director of infection control, we discovered that there are 13 pieces that have been in close contact with infected people. These are now in quarantine and will be tested.

None of the people who have been quarantined have had corona symptoms, as Schrøen knows. In any case, there is no risk of infection for the guests, emphasizes the manager.

Even if 13 people are quarantined, Tromsøbadet will run its normal course.

– Those in quarantine are part of a weekend team that works here every 14 days, says Schrøen.

Tighter control of nightclubs

After a weekend with several queues where people crowded in front of the discos, the municipality is now tightening its control. The purpose is to ensure that the rule of the meter is observed both indoors and outdoors.

In addition, uniformed inspectors must verify that there is a meter of distance between guests.

– We will be four of the municipality out this weekend. There we will help and encourage the public to follow the infection control rules, says the business advisor in the Tromsø municipality, Tony Høgtun Liafjell.

The police, on the other hand, will not increase police control on weekends, but will carry out the usual practice. Troms Police District Police Superintendent Kenneth Helberg supports the municipality in increasing focus.

– Getting people to take infection control rules seriously because we run the risk, in the worst case, of shutting down, says Helberg.
