Shortly after the assault on the Congress building on January 6, it emerged that several Democrats came out in favor of outgoing Donald Trump before the Supreme Court.

On Saturday, it became clear that 180 members of Congress have signed the Supreme Court draft case. This is stated by Congressman Ted Lieu (D), one of the authors behind the draft.

Lieu writes that they will begin the testing process on Monday.

Earlier saturday wrote Lieu that “encourage Trump to resign.”

If he doesn’t, he will be the first president in history to be tried by Congress twice.

The allegations in the draft are that Trump has deliberately encouraged violence against the United States government, according to The New York Times.

It has been about a year since Trump was tried. He was then charged with two counts: abuse of power and opposition to Congress. He was rescued by his fellow Senate party members and allowed to remain in power.

A two-thirds majority is required in the Senate to pass judgment. Therefore, it is also not certain that Trump will fall this time.

But first, the case must go through the House of Representatives. Democrats have a majority there.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio was clear in his speech when he met with the press on Saturday:

He demanded Trump’s removal after the storm

As Congress worked to pass the election that would make Joe Biden the next US president on Wednesday, the building was stormed by a mob of Donald Trump supporters.

The president has been accused of inciting the violent riots, which resulted in the deaths of five people.

During the storm, Trump released a video asking the rebels to go home, saying “I love you.” Some time later, Trump released a new video in which for the first time he acknowledged Biden’s electoral victory and called the assault on Congress a “heinous attack.”

On Saturday, several Democratic congressmen from New York attended a press conference demanding that Trump resign or be removed by the 25th Amendment. If not, they will take you to court.
