NASCAR released the next portion of its updated 2020 calendar last week. This will highlight six Cup Series races over a four-week period to complete the regular season. Now, reports claim that the Daytona International Speedway Road Course races on August 16 and the Oval races after that will have no practice session.
After completing the regular season, NASCAR will advance to the Playoffs season. The Cup begins the long stretch of August at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
After this, they will move to Michigan International Speedway from August 8 to 9 for the first of two double races in August.
The two Michigan races will be followed by a race at Daytona International Speedway RC on August 16. It replaces NASCAR’s annual outing at Watkins Glen International in New York.
Watkins Glen’s career was terminated due to “New York State Health and Safety Regulations”. The circuit in New York has been a regular schedule for over 30 years.
It has now been supplanted by an extra run on the Daytona International Speedway Road Course.
No practice for upcoming NASCAR races
The next NASCAR races will be held without practice or qualifications. You agree with the plans published by the authorizing body.
This is done to reduce exposure of team members at the site in an effort to control the spread of COVID-19.
Provisional schedules released today do not show practice or qualification for Michigan, Road America (Xfinity), Daytona and Dover Circuit for Trucks, Xfinity and Cup. #Nascar

This is a precautionary measure that has been observed since racing resumed after the breakdown of the Coronavirus. The qualification session that took place before the Coca-Cola 600 is the only exception to this new agreement.
Several drivers have spoken on this topic. Drivers feel they need practice sessions before the race. One of them is 2-time Cup series champion Kyle Busch.
Busch has not won a race after the last race of 2019, where he got his second Cup Championship.
In an interview with Beyond The Flag, he said: “I know what I am capable of and what Adam [Stevens] and our team can do. It has certainly been frustrating and I wish I had a little practice to be able to figure out some of the things.
“But that is not the case at the moment. I know everyone is working as hard as they can right now and we will keep digging. ”
