New Jersey Phil Murphy has called for additional funding for the US postal service after announcing that all registered voters in his state will be sent by ballot, and the USPS warned that it may not have the resources to handle the volume properly. The November elections could yield.
“I definitely support more money for the postal service,” Murphy told Fox News Sunday.

In an interview with Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo on Thursday, the president acknowledged blocking funding to the U.S. Postal Service to prevent post-in votes in the upcoming presidential election. He has expressed concern that sending ballots to all voters – instead of asking for absurd votes – exposes the system to fraud.
When asked if he believes Trump and the head of the USPS are playing politics with the postal service, Murphy, a Democrat, said he could not say.
Murphy stated that New Jersey will use a “hybrid option” that can send ballot mailings to all registered voters, provide ballot papers at locations in the state, and have traditional personal voting rights.
Murphy said “we liked what we saw” when the state used a similar approach during the May primary. Host Chris Wallace pointed out that in some cases ballots went to the wrong people and some did not win votes, and that a local election in the city of Paterson resulted in criminal charges against several individuals for fraud.
Murphy claimed that the Paterson incident could be considered a positive one because people “tried to shock with the system and they failed.”
However, when asked what protection measures are in place to prevent fraud, Murphy did not provide a specific answer.
“We have checks and balances for all of this,” the governor said without elaboration. What everyone has the ability to vote in, he said, “We all want to make sure every vote counts.”
Murphy is the co-chair of the Democratic convention, which begins Monday with leading figures providing remote addresses. He now said it was time to put bitter politics aside and instead concentrate on unity.
“We need to put the ‘us against them’ in the rearview mirror and come together in common goal,” Murphy said.
