This weekend, Nintendo hosted it Splatoon 2 North American Open. Although a livestream was planned for the finale, it was canceled due to “unexpected executive challenges”.
There were no further details, however Some Fans think they probably know what’s going on …
In a post on Smash Bros. Subredit, it highlights how a number of teams at the event have put up #freemily hashtags and names. Last month, the U.S. The “Big House” ‘s longest running Super Smash Bros. tournament has been all the rage and was shut down by Nintendo.
As you may recall, the point Nintendo has with this special event is that it needed “illegally copied versions” of this year’s tournament. Super Smash Brothers Meli And Slippy Online will also use online – rollback netcode, allowing players to du du it online.
This is now reported to have splattered on the Splatoon competition scene, illustrated further in the following tweet:
This same Twitter user says how the community obviously doesn’t “surprise” by this:
“To make it clear that this is Nintendo’s call, they are none of the TOs or broadcasters registered over the weekend. This is loss control and a spit in front of all their dedicated competitive scenes. But we’re not surprised.”
Keep in mind, that for now, this is all just speculation. Still, what do you make of all this yourself? Leave a comment below and to learn more about the #freemily and the #save smash movement, check out our previous post.
