After the major leaking of the Nintendo Wii source code and files in May, the leaks recently went on to examine the Nintendo 64 prototypes, and boy, have they been busy?
First, an earlier version of Super Mario 64, titled “Ultra 64 Mario Brothers”, was discovered, and features a fully playable Luigi! In 1996, director Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that Luigi was originally meant to appear in the game, but was eventually removed due to “memory problems.”

The timing of this leak is believed to have been very intentional, possibly referring to the popular theory “L is Real 2401” within the Super Mario 64 community. “L” is believed to refer to Luigi, and as for “2401”, 24 years and a month have passed since the Japanese release date of Super Mario 64 in 1996. We are currently just a few days away from the original release date of June 23 too!
Original Super Mario 64 artwork, pictures, and character models have also been found:

In order not to be completely overshadowed by his brother, Mario has some unused animations, including some adorable dance moves.
I have not yet gone to bed. I’m still doing Mario 64. Lots of unused animations I’m going to take a look now, here is “windemoAold” which is Mario doing a cute little dance. This was supposed to go in place of the star dance animation. pic.twitter.com/qhuNOTkkod

The source code and files were also discovered for another of the Nintendo 64 flagship titles, Ocarina of Time. The leaks have allegedly uncovered references to “Ura Zelda,” an expansion of the Nintendo 64 Disk Drive that was canceled due to the commercial failure of the 64DD peripheral. Some prototypes of dungeons have been found, as well as what appears to be an early construction of the Kokiri Forest.

There’s even a first Stalfos model, complete with several chilling animations.
As with Super Mario 64, original, high-quality art assets were also found for Ocarina of Time, including Link’s official artwork from the game box in full resolution:
