COVID-19 has completely changed the NBA schedule, and the 2019-20 season will finally resume this week. The changes have also impacted the planned rollouts of the sneaker brands, with some postponements and others advanced. One of the latter appears to be LeBron James’ next signature model, the Nike LeBron 18.
James unceremoniously debuted the LeBron 18 during Lakers practice earlier today. While no official announcements were made about the shoe, a source confirms with Sole Collector that it is indeed the next model in James’ signature line.
The lone image, not yet backed by more detailed looks, doesn’t reveal much, but it gives us a general idea of what to expect. LeBron’s familiar elements, like Max Air, carry over, while the Swooshes’ positioning is a little different: a small one adorns the toe and a larger mark runs along the back of the midsole on the medial side.
Details won’t be lacking for long – expect an official Nike announcement soon, as well as more detailed images and a design breakdown. The Lakers begin NBA Bubble scrimmages on Thursday, which may be the first time we’ve seen James wear the LeBron 18 in a game. Stick with Sole Collector as the news continues to unfold.
