NHL Network disapproves of Patrick Kane, Top 20 wingers

NHL Network recently came out with a list of the NHL’s top 20 wingers. As expected, Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane was fifth.

NHL’s doubt and vigilance of Patrick Kane is nothing new. Kane led the Chicago Blackhawks in points last season with 110 and was not even considered a finalist for the league’s MVP.

Kane has helped carry the offense in Chicago for a few years, with the team fighting nights that have not expressed a single point. It means a lot to this team, where if you take it off the Blackhawks, they have no chance against the Oilers.

However, that has not stopped the NHL Network as they have ranked it as the fifth best wing in the NHL. The players in front of him are Artemi Panarin, David Pastrnak, Nikita Kucherov and Alex Ovechkin.

I still think Ovechkin is the best in the league, with Kane second. Due to the lack of success in Chicago recently, I’m not surprised that he’s not in the top position.

At the end of the day, these rankings mean nothing. Having Ovechkin out of the Top 3, along with Kane out of the Top 3 makes the list questionable.

I’m not too involved in sports leagues and their top player rankings, it just doesn’t mean much to me. I am more interested in success and winning than having my favorite players recognized by their peers, experts and fans.
