NFL Trading Deadline 2020 Grade: Developing every deal from Con Alex. Under to Desmond King and beyond.

The 2020 NFL trade deadline is the opposite of what fans have seen. Teams are navigating the league’s COVID protocols and when they can get a player inside and outside their building. There is a clear line separating the best teams in the league from the worst, which should make the position of buyers or sellers more straight forward. The league has already seen some transactions coming towards the transaction wire, but 3 Nov. More is expected before the trade deadline.

CBS Sports is coordinating the following moves and providing grades for each.

Chargers trade DB Desmond King from Tennessee for sixth round pick

Titans: a
Chargers: d

This is Tennessee’s win-win situation, as the Titans had a way to keep a 3-day draft pick in exchange for a former All-Pro defensive back in favor of Los Angeles. The Titans, who already have a poor pass defense in the league, make a big addition to the King with the main waste Mike Varabel, usually advancing in nickel defense. King will take part in the secondary which will start with Adorie Jackson and Mollum Butler at Cornback in safety with Kenner Byrd and Kenny Vecaro – providing the main boost as the fifth defensive back.

King will play the final year of his contract, but he is offering an ition dish for a long-term deal in Tennessee. If the Titans pass defense improves in the second half of the year and the team runs another deep deep playoff, King will be back for many years to come. Varabel will already see King two seasons back in his all-pro form.

The Chargers opted for the sixth round to overtake King – the first team All-Pro in 2018 – which is too low for a player of King’s caliber. Despite previous success under defensive coordinator Gus Bradley as one of the game’s best slot defensive backs, King went out of his way in Los Angeles after a significant reduction in playing time over the last two seasons. The Chargers inevitably outscored King by signing Chris Harris Jr.’s free agent, which significantly reduced playing time for King and, in turn, frustrated the 2017 fifth round selection.

The Chargers weren’t waiting to move on from King as they begin a fire sale of trading players on terminated contracts. King was not returning to Los Angeles, but the Chargers could get a fourth-round pick for his talented player. They just said goodbye to King.

The 49ers trade LB Kevin Alexander to New Orleans to pick LB Keiko Alonso, conditionally in the fifth round.

Saints: B-
49ers: A-

New Reliance is in win-now mode and they are not overly concerned with long-term rituals. If it is a strategy, then commit to it and face the difficulties later. Those issues are definitely coming up but the Saints realize they are in the Super Bowl window and don’t want to ruin Drew Bryce’s final years. San Francisco has taken this matter seriously with the understanding that this is not just their year. Along the way, Kyle Shanahan’s team has accumulated injuries and will cost a handful of key players throughout the season. By advancing Alexander’s contract, he helps create some long-term relief for San Francisco to retain key players. In Se Fisson, they were forced to decide between Eric Armstrong and Deforest Buckner that the possibility could have been avoided if Alexander’s contract had been left out of the books.

Steelers received LB Avery Williamson in exchange for a fifth-round stove

Steelers: B +
Jets: B +

It’s a relatively similar deal for both parties. The Steelers get at least a pe te backup with extensive repetitions in the league. Williamson would make no serious mistake in a situation of impact. Pittsburgh defense linebacker Ryan Shaw was fierce amid injuries to Zier and Devin Bush. The organization made it clear that they do not want to experience life without a competent linebacker during a potential title race.

As for the Jets, they are clearing the space for pay caps and acquiring assets. The general manager himself Dou Douglas is facing long constructions and will have to consider long-term fortunes for the franchise. If there are players excluded from the long-term vision, whether it is due to age, attitude or sport, now is the time to move them with the hope of gaining some wealth in return.

Bengals de Carlos Dunlap, seventh-round pick in exchange for Seahawks Sea Badges Finney

Seahawks: B-
Bangles: B-

The Seahawks desperately needed a pass rusher, and Dunlap offers them in a single short-term fashion, although the long-awaited Bengals are already over and by 2021 it is over 11 million. It’s not a perfect addition; There’s a reason, after all, that the presence of the former two-time Pro Bowl edge went a little further than the scraps. But it is Something For Seattle, and with Dunlap in mind now, he should be motivated to leave Cincinnati.

From the Bengals ’point of view, it’s hard to jump for joy at the return time – a fill-in center with a seventh-round flyer and a 2021 cape hit (which, in the event that Finney is cut, can, of course, be thrown out). But still, to get Anything For a guy from Dunlap more than a late rounder who was struggling on the field and shaking it, it’s solid. At least it’s better for them to go through the sales.

Lions get Cowboys de Everson Griffin in exchange for sixth round stove

Lions: B
Cowboys: C

Lions are contenders? Probably not. But with Matt Patricia’s squad at least rolling north in the NFC and the defense in need of edge care, Griffin presents a welcome addition to a familiar section. He hasn’t popped in Dallas, but he still has a great track record and will enjoy the opportunity to match against his old friends in Minnesota.

Cowboys, meanwhile, are entitled to a little credit for accepting the cold, hard truth (that they are bad) and partnering with an older veterinarian who later performed under the guise of sharing. Still, getting a future sixth-rounder in less than three months after handing over million 6 million to Griffin to start against Demarcus Lawrence? That’s a loss in the grand scheme of things.
