Week 11 brought us the 2020 season – the NFL’s first official playoff rematch – the New York Jets, naturally – as well as an entertaining series of events that shook places at both conferences. Here’s a sneak peek of Sunday afternoon:
-
4:15 p.m. and: The Titans were leading the Colts to a half-game lead in the AFC South with a win over the Ravens 30-24 overtime.
-
4:18 pm and: The Brows completed a 22-17 victory over the Eagles, allowing them to jump to the Ravens in the AFC North position.
-
7:52 pm and: The Colts beat the Packers in overtime, pulling them even with the Titans, setting a huge Week 12 game. Oh, and the loss of the Packers puts the Saints under the control of the NFCA.
It is now clear that the league is competitively leaning towards the AFC, where nine teams have won records. The NFC has five winning teams, and four of the three winning teams are fighting for the NFC East lead. Let’s take a closer look at the current playoff landscape, using ESPN’s Foot Power Power Index (FPI) where appropriate for reference.

We are starting to enter the historic historical area with these steelers. After Sunday’s win over the Jaguars, they became the 18th team to start the 10th season since 1966. Nine of the previous 17 reached the Super Bowl, and six of them won it, most recently the Saints in 2009. They will have the opportunity to complete a season sweep of the Ravens on Thanksgiving near the AFC North title.
