NFL officials believe the Chicago Bears will consider re-signing QB Mitchell Trubiski

Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubiski has made a strong case for rejecting his fifth-year option, why he should be the newest player, just to stop that decision.

In the eyes of some NFL officials, Trubiski has recently played some of the best football of his career, making a case for why Chicago would need to consider re-signing.

Tubiski will be more likely to return to Chicago next season if the Bears (–7) win their final two regular season games and earn a playoff berth.

Trubiski and Bear coach Matt Nagy together have a 24-12 record in Trubiski’s opening games, as he will do against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Bear 3-7 under Trubiski’s start nurse in sports.

With Trubiski’s performance and record, some in the Bears’ organization are now wondering what would have happened this season, if the overall pick of the No. 2 overall picks at 201 was not 0-0.

Chicago are 2-5 this season with Nick Falls as the opening quarterback, averaging just 17 points in those games.

But since Trubiski has been rearranged as an early quarterback, the offense has averaged 1 point in his last four games – and Chicago is back in the playoffs. The Barriers, who have handled their fate, thanks to the Cardinals for the uninterrupted damage to the upset ers, visit the one-win Jaguar on Sunday before finishing the season at home against rival Packers.

An NFL executive told ESPN this week that with the way Trubiski has pulled off, Chicago will now have to consider bringing him back – a possibility he found difficult to imagine after being benched this season.

Trubisky’s chances of staying in Chicago for the long term also looked slim after he rejected the Bears’ fifth-year option in May last year – two months after he fell into a trade with Jacksonville.

But Trubisky’s season is getting off to a strong start, as the Titans reject his fifth-year option in the 2017 first-round draft to join receiver Corey Davis and then thrive in 2020.

Moving to more play-passes in Chicago late-season seems to have made a difference for the 26-year-old quarterback, who has used his young playmakers in Darnell Mooney, Cole Comet, Anthony Miller, David Montgomery and Alan Robinson. Trubiski has completed 68% of passes in Chicago’s last four games with eight touchdowns and just three interceptions.

The stretch drive has impressed some officials around the league, but one person pointed out that Trubiski’s recent success is not all that new.

Over the past three years, Trubiski’s winning percentage (.766. %%) has been surpassed by many other first-round quarterbacks during the ૨–4 period of his years – Carson Wentz (62૨. %%), Deshen Watson (.655 %%), Better than the ones posted by. Mayfield (53.3%) and Ryan Tennhill (45.8%).
