NFL 2020 offseason: Las Vegas Raiders are near the top

Members of this community know what has been happening with the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason. That is why there is so much excitement about the upcoming NFL season.

The Raiders did a great job this summer. We all know that the Raiders’ first year in Las Vegas could be special due to the list that Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock have met over the past three months. They had plenty of salary space and spent wisely, adding 14 free agents, including several that can start in a renewed defense.

The Raiders also hope to have made the draft for the second season in a row, as they added first-round picks, catcher Henry Ruggs III and cornerback Damon Arnette, and several players they think will help immediately, including third-round Lynn Bowden Jr. .

They had a solid offseason in 2019 as they went from 4-12 in 2018 to 7-9 last season. The hope and expectation within the organization is that this offseason will propel the Raiders into the playoff mix, especially as the AFC playoff group has expanded from six to seven teams.

The Raiders’ offseason has been noticed. CBS Sports wrote a story identifying the top 10 teams that had the best offseason and Las Vegas ranked seventh. The only other AFC West team on the list was the Los Angeles Chargers, who ranked ninth. Here’s part of CBS Sports ‘thoughts on the Raiders’ offseason:

Eyes are on the Raiders for more than just the move to Las Vegas. Now, it is time to see how it develops in the field.
