NFAC members injured by friendly fire during protest in Louisville

Three members of the black-led pro-armed organization “Not F – king Around Coalition” were hit by a friendly fire in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday as they protested the Breonna Taylor police shooting, according to reports.

They were shot around 1 pm in Baxter Park in Louisville, police said.

Police attributed the shooting to “accidental discharge”. All three victims managed to survive with non-life threatening injuries.

The shooting occurred when riot police officers worked to maintain the separation between the NFAC and a smaller group of right-wing militants known as “Tres Percentros,” Daily Beast reported.

NFAC members continued the demonstration, which ended around 4:30 pm without further problems, despite pre-march concerns about clashes between left and right groups.

Other protests have turned violent: in June, a gunman killed 27-year-old photographer Tyler Gerth.

Steven Nelson Lopez, 23, faces murder charges and nine counts of senseless danger for the murder of Gerth.

Police killed Taylor, 26, on March 13 after entering his apartment with an “untouched” search warrant while chasing an alleged drug dealer.

No arrests have been made for his death, which has sparked continued protests.
