Good evening Bucknuts subscribers! A lot is happening with Ohio State soccer recruiting, so let’s get started! Of course, I will have much more throughout the night and tomorrow.
1) Not the top-ranked prospect in the Buckeyes’ star-studded 2021 recruiting class, that honor goes to the defensive end Jack sawyer. But running TreVeyon Henderson right behind Sawyer and Sawyer and Henderson are two of the four 5-star prospects who have committed to Ryan Day and the Buckeyes. A good case could be made for Sawyer, Henderson, quarterback Kyle McCordoffensive lineman Donovan Jackson Or maybe a couple more people like the top recruit in this Ohio state recruiting class.
So at Henderson, what are the Buckeyes getting? Obviously, Day and the Ohio State staff are having an excellent time. Henderson is a threat to take the ball home every time he touches it, whether he’s running away from a hit or catching it off the field. But what does Henderson say the Buckeyes are getting with their many talents?
Your answer: a Christian McCaffrey running guy. When I asked Henderson which broker he would compare to, he said he really doesn’t like doing that too much, feeling like he’s his own type. But after thinking about it for a few moments, Henderson said he sees himself as a McCaffrey runner.
I think the Buckeyes will take it. McCaffrey ran for 1,387 yards and had 1,005 yards receiving with 19 touchdowns last season for the Carolina Panthers.
