Newsroom – American Airlines closes services to 15 markets in October as CARES Act Service Commitment expires

FORT WORTH, Texas – American Airlines Group Inc. (NASDAQ: AAL) will adjust its October schedule to extend service to 15 markets as a result of low demand and the expiration of air service requirements associated with the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. This is the first step as American continues to evaluate its network and plans for additional schedule changes in the coming weeks.

These station suspensions will take effect from October 7th. For now, these changes are only in place for the October period, which runs through November 3rd.

The airline will continue to re-evaluate plans for these and other markets as an extension of the Payroll Support Program remains under discussion. The full, updated October schedule will be released on August 29, and US expects to release its updated November schedule by late September.

The full list of suspensions is below and will be reflected on aa.com Aug 29th.

Service changes begin Oct. 7
