County health officials remind people that traditional Halloween celebrations are not advised under state or local health guidelines, and large gatherings are not allowed.
Halloween celebrations – such as parties and, individually, door-to-door tricks અથવા or treating – have a high risk of spreading COVID-19 and are discouraging.
“These activities involve face-to-face conversions with a variety of household people,” said Wilma Wooten, MD, MPH, MPH, the county’s public health officer. “If participants are infected with Covid-19, it will be very difficult to locate and report those who have come out.”
To ensure that children have fun and celebrate safely, Wooten recommends the following safe Halloween activities:
- Parties Contest like online parties / costumes or pumpkin carvings
- Drive-through events and car parades
- Dressing houses and yards with Halloween-themed decorations
- Movie nights with your own home or in a drive-in theater
- Pumpkin patches where people use hand sanitizers and maintain a 6-foot distance from others
“Please be safe and be healthy this Halloween weekend,” Wooten said. “Boo and Kack Kal can be pretty fun, but Kovid certainly isn’t.”
Here’s a list of other Halloween celebration options that aren’t approved or recommended.
