In the memoirs, according to the Times, the investigation, based on Strozz’s oversight, showed the president’s “willingness to accept political aid from an opponent like Russia – and, accordingly, his willingness to spoil everything America has raised.”
“He’s not a patriot,” Mr. Strack writes in the book. “It’s the opposite.”
Strauss-Kahn claimed that Trump’s political pressure on the FBI led to his termination in August 2018 after he criticized the president and in 2016 made political remarks in text messages.
The legislators found several branches of messages recovered between Stroke and Page in 2018, including many messages referring to Trump.
In the book, Strauss-Kahn insists he was not part of the FBI’s attempt to hurt the president. Instead, he says the purpose of the operation was to “see if there is a credible allegation of foreign intelligence,” according to his memoirs.
“It started with Russia, and it was always about Russia,” Strauss-Kahn writes.
Trump eventually briefed Joachim M અનેller when the bureau began its investigation after the shooting of former FBI Director James Cummins and “showed vaguely complex portraits of foreign interference,” according to Times reports.
“And on top of all that, at the peak of this aplasticism of brazenness and betrayal, sat a president who lied to the public and called Russia together, and, once they became aware of him, tried to block our investigation everywhere.” Writes.
Strauss-Kahn also writes in his book that the FBI was not prepared for Russia’s interference in the 2016 election, claiming that the bureau should follow warning signs.
He writes that the government “was not cooperating as effectively as we should have.”
