One of those people who went around for help was EMT Tony Aldapa, Who gave us his first-hand account … and it looks like he’s willing to risk a potential contagion to save a man’s life.
No one knows for sure if the man has the virus – but some passengers believe he did … and also fear he may have been infected. Tony tells us they took off the man’s mask but replaced it with an oxygen mask. Still, it causes a lot of anxiety for riders.
It’s a huge problem that has largely gone undiscovered so far … The fact is that there is virtually no way to be a coward for someone to get away or get on a plane and endanger everyone’s life. The honor system is as good as the honesty of the passengers, and that’s clearly the problem.
United say it is working with health officials to reach the passengers of Flight 591 so that they are not infected with the virus.
