Deputy Chief Scientist and Medical Officer for the AHA – Dr. Rose Robertson said, “The American Heart Association advises people not to take any substance, including cannabis products, smoke or vape, because of the potential damage to the heart, lungs and blood vessels.” The AHA published a statement in its journal ‘Circulation’ that said marijuana “has the potential to interfere with prescription medications,” and may also trigger “cardiovascular conditions such as events” such as stroke and heart attacks.
