Biden leads by a narrow margin of 2 points over Trump among likely voters of Georgia, with 46 percent of the vote compared to Trump’s 44 percent, according to a SurveyUSA poll published Tuesday. Biden’s lead is well within the plus or minus 5.3 percentage point of the error of the interview.
Trump has consistently pursued Biden in recent national polls, and Biden has also taken the lead in a number of key swing states. In 2016, Trump defeated Georgia by about 5 points.
The survey also shows a number of tight-knit congressional races across the state.
Sen. David Perdue (R) is neck-and-neck with his Democratic challenger, Jon Ossoff. Purdue leads Ossoff by just 3 points, which is also within the margin of error, at 44 percent compared to Ossoff’s 41 percent, based on the poll.

The survey was conducted for WXIA-TV in Atlanta. It surveyed 800 adults in Georgia, including 669 registered to vote. Of those registered to vote, Survey USA determined that 623 were likely to vote in the general election. The survey was conducted August 6-8.
