Version 1.4.2 of Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been released on Nintendo Switch. This marks the latest in a number of updates that Nintendo has released in recent weeks for the life-sim. Like version 1.4.1, this one offers a handful of minor fixes for bugs in the game. It’s not the most exciting update, but these smaller fixes are a testament to Nintendo’s focus to be sure. Animal Crossing: New Horizons runs as smoothly as possible. Given the success of the game, this is definitely no surprise! The full patch notes for Nintendo’s 1.4.2 update can be found below:
General updates
The following issues have been addressed:
- Fan Ver. 1.4.1:
- Fixed issue where the “sumo ring” would not display properly.
- Fan Ver. 1.4.0:
- Fixed issue where the game would close under certain circumstances when dreaming.
- Fixed issue where light soil would incorrectly appear behind buildings and other places.
- Fixed issue where specific postcards sent from residents of animals with the player being close to friends would not appear as intended in the player’s mailbox.
- Fan Ver. 1.3.0:
- The MTU changed while playing with others from 1364 to 1240 to investigate an issue where players in certain network environments could not play with others.
Those who enjoy the dream feature of the game should be happy to see the issue from version 1.4.0. resolved. By dreaming in the game, players can visit the dream islands of other players. The feature allows players to open their islands to more visitors without having to worry about any kind of negative impact.
Fans looking for a major update will probably have to wait until late September or early October. The video announcing Summer Update Wave 2 released a short teaser for the fall update, featuring a picture of the seasonal character Jack. At this time, Nintendo has not revealed any further details about the fall update, but dataminers have found mention of several vegetables that could come after the game. However, until Nintendo officially announces it, fans will have to take it with a grain of salt.
