New Fortnite v13.20 update: patch notes, flare gun, server idle status

A new Fortnite update is coming, v13.20. Here is everything we can expect from tomorrow’s update.

Epic Games released Fortnite chapter 2 season 3 almost two weeks ago. Since Chapter 2 started, there haven’t been many updates with new items or map changes, however it looks like that will change this season.

Epic released a content update last week that featured Fireflies and Firefly jar. Players can throw these jars at players to objects. On impact, Firefly Jars will deal 40 damage to a player.

Not only does it appear that Epic will add more elements as they did in Chapter 1, we are likely to see many more changes to the map as the season progresses. So far in chapter 2, there haven’t been many map changes during one season, but in chapter 1 and season 10 in particular, there were weekly or fortnightly map changes.

With the water levels on the map ready to roll back, it will reveal new and old locations. The leaks have already shown us what some of the old locations on the map will look like when water levels drop.

Epic has announced a new Fortnite update, v13.20, which will likely bring some changes to the game map, as well as a new item or weapon. Here is everything we know so far and what we can expect from the v13.20 update.

Flare Gun Fortnite

In the downtime tweet on Fortnite’s status Twitter account, the tweet stated that they are adding a new flare to the game. All of this confirms that the flare gun will finally hit Fortnite Battle Royale.

The Flare Gun was leaked in Chapter 1, and was used in short Fortnite clips that Epic tends to post to its YouTube and Twitter accounts. It was added back to the archives at the beginning of season 3, and here are the stats for the weapon:

Map changes – water level

There will almost certainly be some changes to the map. Water levels are likely to be lower once Fortnite’s servers are up and running again. The leaks showed what some old Season 2 spots would look like when they return as the water levels drop.

We’ll probably see one or two locations return in the new Fortnite v13.20 update tomorrow, or we might see a new location emerge.

Leaks

As this is a major update to Fortnite, we will see some leaks from the archives. Expect to see new Fortnite skins and other leaked cosmetics along with upcoming items, new challenges, and more.
