New emojis are coming in 2021, with over 200 mixed-skin-tone options for women on fire, heartburn and couples.

The Unicode Consortium, a for-profit organization that monitors emoji standards and is responsible for new releases, has announced the release of more than 200 emojis that will release a limited number of “emoji 13.1” to cell phones during the coming year – meaning even more this year. To express pain.
Unicode called it a “small release” to add new emojis before 2022. The consortium, announced in April, will not release any new emojis until 2022 due to the epidemic.

The main additions (rightly for this year) are the heart with the surrounding bar and the heart on the fire – which, depending on the interpretation, can express either heartburn or heartbreak.

Another big addition is the attempt to create a gender-neutral person with the right, as a currently appearing male appears. The tried gender-inclusive design offers three types of gender: “person” with gender, “female” with gender and “male” with gender – neutral with the “person” option.

But the bulk of the update includes 200 of the 217 new emojis, dedicated to skin tone for the “Heart Couple” emoji and the “Kiss” emoji. The current options provide only a default “yellow” skin tone for both, but the update will allow specifying other skin tones. This will also allow the depiction of interracial relationships.

Other fun additions include a face / head in the clouds (either representing a deity or a visual representation of a daydream) and a face blowing or blowing a cloud of smoke.

With the more complete “Emoji 14.0” package dropped in 2022, updates from January to October 2021 can hit anywhere on your phone.
