GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new guidelines on masks this week. They report that masks with valves or valves do more harm than good, allowing the virus to escape and infect nearby people.
However, public health experts did not restrict people from wearing the N95’s top-of-the-line masks, saying they should be reserved for health care workers. Fortunately, updated research now suggests that the best masks for us to wear are the easiest to get.
Gavin MacGregor-Skinner, a public health expert at Penn State University, says: ‘It has to be really tight weave fabric. Sheets make ideal face masks because they can be cleaned and the woven material is really tight. That again works so well. Any material that extends does not make a good mask, as it will allow those respiratory drops to escape. ”
A University of Washington forecast predicts that nearly 1,300 Americans will die from the coronavirus by December 1st.
But, if 95 percent of Americans wear masks, that number could drop by about 70 thousand.
Many frontline workers say they have had enough of people refusing to wear masks.
Dr Desmond Carson of emergency medicine says: ‘This is a very, very little effort, minimal effort to minimize loss of life. It’s ridiculous. It’s disrespectful. It’s inhuman. We are human beings. ”
Still, Americans across the country continue to protest against masked mandates that say it is a violation of their civil liberties.
