Netflix repeals Patriot Act after six seasons

Due to its short two years of existence, the show by Hasan Minhaj Patriot Act had become one of the most popular shows on Netflix.

The show continues in the cultural and political landscape of America and deconstructed it through the incredible power of Minhaj.

The best quality of it often dived into global trends and topics and made them simple. It was just brilliant. Not only was it comedy, but it was always chock full of essential information on topics that people encounter on a daily basis. And he often uses journalism to do it.

And now, after six seasons on the platform, the show has been canceled and it’s unclear why. Minhaj announced the news Tuesday morning in a tweet.

The cancellation nevertheless came out of nowhere. And, seeing the critique of the show, so many people were asking.

The internet went into a frenzy after Minhaj posted the news.

Netflix confirmed the cancellation to Deadline shortly after breaking the news, but they gave no reason for it.

The Patriot Act was another shot in the air last night for talk shows for Netflix that they’ve been trying to crack for years. If canceling this show is any indication, they really have a hard time putting things together.

Hopefully, though, for us, however, Minhaj will be able to continue with the work he did elsewhere at some point. We just have to wait and see until then.
