Dave Chaplain clarified that he did not allow Viacom CBS to license his comedy Central series, Chapel’s show, Without paying him a penny. The comedian talked about it during his recent time Saturday Night Live Monologue, and now he’s done something about it.
In a video, the title Unforgivation, Which was posted on Instagram this morning, Chappell says he told Netflix, where he has a deal for standup specials, to take Chapel’s show, Which licensed the streamer on a non-exclusive basis, excluding service.
Netflix has honored Chappell’s request, and removed the show last night, with a representative for Stremer confirming the deadline. The show airs in the U.S. in November. 1, started streaming on. Chapel’s show, Owned by ViacomCBS, it is still available at the company’s KD Medi Central and CBS All Access Access outlets and was recently licensed by HBO Max. The companies that license the program pay the seller, who will have to reimburse the creations in the show.

Chappell was a co-creator, executive producer and star Chapel’s show, Which also had a brief but very successful run on Comedy Central during 2003-2006.
Netflix has been home to Chapel for four years with deals of standup specials.
