With Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of the Fire Saga Now streaming on Netflix, I recently got an extended interview with the director. David Dobkin and we went deep in making the movie. During the hour-long conversation, Dobkin shared a ton of great behind-the-scenes stories about how the film was made. This includes how the hook for the song “Double Trouble” would have gone to Ariana Grande if you didn’t use it in the movie, how did you come up with the songs in the movie like “Ya Ya Ding Dong”, the advice Ridley Scott gave you years ago about the use of music in a movie, casting Dan Stevens and the importance of their acting to make the whole movie work, why they had a hard time editing due to the abundance of material, meeting with Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams after Wedding Crashers, and much more. Trust me, if you want to know how Eurovision It was done, you will learn a lot in this interview.

Loaded with catchy songs, an amazing performance by Stevens, and tons of previous Eurovision winners in surprise cameos during a fun musical number, Eurovision It is a very funny movie that will make you smile while watching. The film also stars Pierce Brosnan, Demi lovato, Natasia Demetriou and Jamie Demetriou. Eurovision is co-written by Ferrell and Andrew Steele.
