A woman was reportedly heard screaming, “Don’t do it” at the Calabasas, California mansion where Benjamin Keough, the son of Lisa Marie Presley and the late grandson of Elvis Presley, died on Sunday. Krough, 27, reportedly died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A neighbor said The Daily Mail They heard a party on the property early Sunday morning and heard the woman’s scream at around 3:30 am, but did not hear a shot.
Another neighbor who lives on the same street told the Daily mail that deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were at the house around 6 am Sunday. The neighbor said police were interviewing a “distressed” woman. “I could hear someone talking very loudly in the backyard. I looked outside and saw what appeared to be his girlfriend outside talking to the police, and she was quite hysterical,” said the neighbor, who wished not to be identified. Mail. They said they heard the woman say she couldn’t believe what happened, “The family is going to hate me” and “They are going to blame me.” The neighbor added: “I think he felt guilty that it happened … but I don’t want to speculate (as to) what caused it.”
The neighbor believes that the woman was Keough’s girlfriend, since the woman was seen “coming and going” regularly. However the Daily mail That could not be verified. The resident also said that Presley was not at the house and had not been seen “for several weeks.” Other neighbors said they saw members of the Presley family there on Sunday night.
Alexander Freiberg, 67, lives across the street and said the community is “shocked” by Keough’s death. “What happened is a tragedy and it took everyone by surprise,” Freiberg told the Daily mail. “Everyone is shocked, may their souls rest in peace.” Another neighbor described the Presley family as “very private,” nothing the neighbors even greet. “It’s not that they’re rude, they just don’t want anyone to know who they are,” they said.
After the news of Keough’s death, Presley’s manager confirmed the sad news in a brief statement. “She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and more than devastated, but she tries to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and older daughter Riley,” the statement said. “She adored that boy. He was the love of her life.”
