Nebraska Football Recruiting # 1 Tight End Thomas Fidone Commits Huskers

BIG NEWS FROM US BELOW AT EAST !!!!!!!!!

Finally, Nebraska added the promise of Iowa TE / WR Thomas Fidone II. The 6’5 225 lbs. Fidone plays for Lewis Central HS in Council Bluffs, Iowa, across the Missouri River from the Omaha area.

Nebraska offered him last fall and has been everywhere ever since, and he eventually purchased his services for the 2021 recruiting class, even when other major programs were big. The entire staff played their part in this recruitment, but special props go to Coach Frost, TE coach Sean Beckton, and defensive coordinator Erik Chinander to get him to Lincoln.

Looking at Fidone’s highlights, the best combination I can make is former Miami Hurricane & current Chicago Bear Jimmy Graham. His route running is so graceful that I almost cried. His hands have never let you down. His speed is perfect for the tight end position. Lewis Central uses him almost exclusively broadly, so his inline blocks what work is needed, no task too high for Husker’s coaching staff.

Thomas apparently had offers from every Power 5 school in the country, but his finalists were Nebraska, Notre Dame, Iowa, Michigan & LSU. The extensive deadlift period imposed by the NCAA because of the COVID-19 pandemic helped us here a little, because Thomas could never personally see LSU, Notre Dame or Michigan. He made it to Iowa City a few times, but LMAOOOOOOOOOOO.

Rivals and 247 both had him once as the tight end in the country, but at the moment he has him at the 2nd best tight end in the country behind Jake Briningstool as Hudson Wolfe, both Tennessee residents, and honestly they should have their eyes check, I’m assuming it’s the Southeast bias that is enlarging her ugly head again. However, both services have Fidone II a high 4-star, one of the top 100 players in the country, and the best player in Hawkeye State.

Thomas’ commitment gave the Huskers 2021 recruiting class a massive bump, sitting at 20th in the country according to Rivals. 247 has our ranking 27th in the US & 7th in the conference that destroyed Kevin Warren. We were once ranked # 39 in the country on both platforms.

Welcome to Nebraska, Thomas !!!! GBR !!!!!
