Davy County, NC (Churchmilitant.com) – As part of the Personhood Alliance’s Safe Cities and Counties, on Monday, Oct. 5, 2020, the Davy County Board of Commissioners unanimously became the second safest county for children born in the nation. Initiative. A major development of this initiative is expected to take place not only in North Carolina, but across the country, as lifelong pro-Christians will not wait for judges and politicians to rectify the moral crisis.
After unanimously passing the Safe County Resolution, Davy County joins neighboring Yadkin County, North Carolina, moving on to the next phase of the Personhood Alliance’s Safe Cities and Counties initiative (formerly known as the Sanctuary for Life). So far, the project has planted safe cities in eight cities in Mississippi, two counties in North Carolina, and several additional locations in seven additional states, which are currently running safe city resolutions.
Pastor Keith Pavalaski, president of Personhood NC, who led Safe County’s efforts in North Carolina, recalls the long road to Davy County resolution:
The Davy County track of becoming a Safe County was fantastic, such as 2020. The person’s NCA launched a bilateral approach in January, with pastors gathering to explain the efforts and at the same time engaging directly with the county commissioners. We passed a resolution to the board of commissioners in the first week of February, but the COVID-19 panic closed the monthly meeting of commissioners in March and our resolution remained stable until last Monday night. In the end, the board voted to be the second county in U.S. history to be a safe county! This is a truly historic time.
The Safe City Resolution marks the end of Phase 1 of the Personhood Alliance’s three-phase safe cities and counties initiative and entry into Phase 2’s educational and community building work.
Three phases of a safe city strategy
The Safe Cities and Counties initiative was created to mimic the approach of early Christians to transfer culture and shape law.
Phase 1 encourages churches, leaders, and community members to pass a resolution establishing an ethical and legal foundation for a county board or city council to become a courageous, but legally benign, safe city, or county. For example, a resolution has just been passed in Davy County and faithfully and boldly declares the individuality of the duty of all human beings and local leaders to protect equally under the law.
The city or county works on the resolution in Phase 2, while church leaders, council members and commissioners, and community and ministry leaders work together to create networks and support systems to meet local needs. During this phase, the Personhood Alliance helps the church, community members and local authorities educate about the principles of personality and how to apply them to all aspects of life affecting the community, including abortion, incitement and adoption, human trafficking, exploitation. . Children, unethical biotechnologies, disability discrimination, the crisis in nursing homes, and many other threats to that local jurisdiction.
In the middle of Phase 2, there is a desire and need by the church to receive charity from the government. It is time for Christians to make personal commitments to serve the needs of their own communities and to share Jesus with those who have lost and broken. Ultimately, the goal is that both abortion and other direct attacks on human life and dignity are illegal And Incredible. Only the gospel level can change hearts and minds.
Ultimately, the goal is that both abortion and other direct attacks on human life and dignity are illegal And Incredible.
In Phase 3, the community takes peaceful, non-violent action to exercise their constitutional right and ignore their unjust judgment. Row vs. Wade And all its examples. It is in Phase 3 that the local authorities pass legally binding ordinances and make promises on behalf of all other victims of the prenatal and death culture.
Wisdom of Stage of Safe City Strategy
Pastor Pavlansky discusses the importance of a phased approach to the protection and preparation of the community.
The wisdom of a safe city strategy is that it eliminates initial objections and legal concerns, because the first step is to pass, in common sense, an ethical resolution. There will be no legal cost to passing the resolution, unless opponents suddenly feel like they can make the first amendment. Opponents may scream all they need about the resolution – a powerful public statement – but they can’t claim … Now we have a tool to glow relatively simple life wins that cost relatively little. It only takes energy and desire to do it in tight areas.
Pastor Pavlaski notes that sometimes pro-life activists object:
There are some criticisms of “just passing resolutions” from our own pro-life communities who want to jump into a legal crisis immediately. I have noted to them that this is only our first step and that our resolutions carry as much legal weight as the Declaration of Independence 244 years ago. Also, the three-phase approach builds local awareness and understanding and prepares churches and civic leaders for the fight ahead.
The Personhood Alliance’s Safe Cities and Counties initiative is different from other sanctuary city groups that consider legally binding ordinances to criminalize abortion as the first and often only step.
Efforts in Texas are a sanctuary-led effort for acting and East Texas Right to Life, exemplified by the recent announcement of Texas’ 15th city to be a “Sanctuary City for Unborn Children.” Similar sanctuary city efforts have been made in Utah and New Mexico.
Legal reversal of legal abortion at any age of pregnancy and infanticide
The Personhood Alliance’s phased strategy protects communities from legal challenges that are as burdensome as ACLU’s lawsuits against sanctuary cities in Texas and often dependency-first or dependency-only approaches. The three-step safe cities and county strategy does not initially disregard federal or state law, which could bring unnecessary and potentially damaging attention to the community and its leaders before adequate support systems are implemented.
The safe city strategy doesn’t even wait Row Will be overturned, or does not include exceptions, compromises or other measures of delayed or inconsistent implementation. Although the end result of a safe city or county resolution is equal protection by ignoring unjust laws, the way to get there focuses on the church’s responsibility to end the legal killing of congenital children and to defend against other direct attacks on human life. Pride, at all stages.
Les Riley, president of the Personhood Alliance, explains:
The most effective pro-life ministry is local and affiliate. We have now seen many attempts at sanctuary by different groups, but often, it suffers from similar compromises and exceptions that have undermined the main mission of the pro-life movement for the last 50 years. This effort is intended to be ignored Row – One goal we share. But at the same time, they are waiting for the unjust decision to be overturned.
We must engage in these local efforts to reclaim our towns and territories and ultimately our states by applying relevant ethical principles and rejecting judicial tyranny. And we should include Christians to protect children and their families in their backyards, while principled local leaders ensured a strong community support system for the fight ahead.
Major growth is expected
Pastor Pavlenski expects many more counties and towns in North Carolina and across the country to join the Safe Cities and Counties initiative:
The Personhood Alliance has all the support and data any pastor or group needs to raise local-related injustice Row vs. Wade. The three-stage process is simple, And It results in great excitement and enthusiasm participating in churches and communities. Both Yadkin and Davy counties have now begun to create a culture of life that will pervade our state.
