NBA Rumors: Gordon Hayward ‘Must Break All Personal Relationships for Boston’

Even if not surprising, it seems clearer than ever that Gordon Hayward has one foot out the door and the other foot off the door.

Hayward had pulled out of a deal with the Boston Celtics and reportedly intended to land with the Indiana pacers – something he could do if signed-and-traded.

It is not clear if Hedward will even pass the final year of his deal with the Celtics, which paid him .2 34.2 million. But indeed he did, and given this report by Gary W. Washburn of the Boston Globe, it seems he has laid the groundwork for a while.

“What’s going on in Hayward’s discussion right now is: Hayward wants to play in his native Indiana and he has told the Celtics he wants to trade there,” Way Shaburn wrote on Saturday. “He played for the Fishers, Indie, during the team’s tenure in the NBA Bubble. (About 30 minutes from Bankers Life Fieldhouse) moved his family back. He has enrolled his daughters in school there.

“So he has broken all personal ties with Boston.”

To say.

Maybe things really go south and Hayward has no choice but to return to Boston. Yet that seems unlikely, and it’s clear what the 30-year-old wants next.
