NBA Montrezl Harrell apologizes to Luka Doncic for comment ‘b —- a– white boy’

Loose Clippers striker Montrezl Harrell apologized to Luka Doncic on Sunday after calling the Dallas Mavericks guard a “bitch ass white boy” in a recent playoff game that drew substantial blowbacks on social media.

‘When the story is gone, get it right, all I ask is, no one spoke to me to do anything then I approached him and cleared the air of all the nonsense beyond what was said. Nothing but respect for Luka, he understood the heat of the battle and he said it did not only RESPECT him, “Harrell wrote on Twitter.

Clippers head coach Doc Rivers told reporters Sunday that he was talking to Harrell about his language.

“You just have to be careful,” Rivers said. ‘They’re both talking. I do not think Luka said anything racist, but he swore that they did both. It’s an emotional game.

“It’s a playground game there in the playoffs,” Rivers continued. “I said to him, ‘Hey, I do not think you meant anything racial by that.’ He said ‘white boy’, but I do not think it meant any race. But, we are in a very elevated climate and you have to be careful. Trez was the first to say that. He said ‘I have it not ‘that does not mean racist.’ ”

Several athletes and sports writers ventured into social media to condemn Harrell’s remark before his apology.

Doncic hit the game-winning shot in overtime on Sunday night, leading the Mavericks with 43 points, 17 rebounds and 13 assists.

The series between the Clippers and Mavericks is tied to two games each.
