No prospect was mentioned with the Warriors in an NBA draft conversation later than former Memphis center James Wiseman. The Warriors ’only question mark in the lineup starting for the 2020-21 season comes in at five, as Marquis Chris and Kevin Looney, both close to the power forward, represent the only options on the current roster at the center.
Wiseman is 7-foot-and-a-half and will size up the Variers in the frontcourt that was sadly missed before the season. But, as ESPN’s Brian Windhurst explained Monday afternoon, the Warriors aren’t the only team that has expressed intense interest in Viceman, as Charlotte Hornet, who owns the No. 3 pick, also needs a star on the frontcourt.
“The big thing for the Golden State is that Charlotte does,” Windhurst said. “The Jump.” “Charlotte is very interested in James Wiseman, and could move up to No. 1 to take him.”

There have been several reports in recent days detailing Harnett’s special interest in Wisman, and it’s no secret that both the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Warriors are potentially trading in this year’s class with little uncertainty. If Wiseman is indeed the most beloved player by the Warriors ’front office fees, but gets the overall No. 1 pick by Charlotte or another team, Golden State is more prone to furthering the trade.
“If Charlotte goes ahead and meets him, I think you’ll be more interested in returning to the Golden State.”
The Hornets have a lot of center options on the current roster, but that could definitely improve on the position. Bismack Biombo and Willie Hernangomez are both free agents, Cody Zeller is entering the final year of the inflated contract, and Jillian McDaniels is more comfortable playing three or four at the NBA level.
The young former high-pick pick on the Hornets roster can stand out loud to rebuild his team around Charlotte Wiseman. The Minnesota All-NBA is set to center position with big man Carl-Anthony Towns, and will likely keep an eye on other positions in the lottery.

The Warriors have been linked to a number of trade scenarios, and missing Wiseman could force General Manager Bob Myers to take a hard look at the lower teams in the lottery. With the NBA bubble not being invited to Land Rlando, the long-running se fissions have given Golden State’s front office fees enough time to focus on scouting and researching players, and have reportedly met and looked at several possibilities for later in the lottery. Or even back.
Outside of the USC, Oneka Okongwu is another big man who has put up a draft board, and immediately provides a strong defensive skill, which the Warriors want more in view of their anticipation for next year’s championship. But almost every sign wise man or supreme athlete is the ideal choice of Anthony Edwards Warriors.
Being able to pick a tee player in the first round and be able to slide a few places could be more appealing to a team trying to extend its championship window to the wrong side of 30 with Clay Thompson and Dremond Green.
The Warriors ’brain confidence is certainly mapping out every possible scenario of how the top picks unfold, but how desperate to bring Schizman could have a big impact on how the Warriors move forward on November 18th.
