A day after the tragic confirmation, Rivera’s loved ones commented on her great loss in her first public statement since the actress disappeared.
“We are very grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers for Naya, Josey and our family over the past week,” Rivera’s manager said in the statement. Naya was an incredible talent, but she was an even older person, mother, daughter, and sister.”
Her family also recognized the people who helped locate her. “Thank you to the men and women of the Ventura County, Tulare and San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Departments for their commitment and unwavering effort to find Naya,” her statement continued. “We extend infinite gratitude and ovation to the heroine who found her. Thank you to your friends, colleagues, and admirers for your continued support.”
“Heaven won over our cheeky angel,” the family concluded. “We ask that our privacy be respected during this difficult time.”
