Cleveland Indians pitcher Adam Plutko expressed his dumb contempt for teammates Zach Plesac and Mike Clevinger after the pair were caught and left the bubble to move to Chicago after a game against the White Sox.
The right-handed pitchers were placed on the restricted list for violating the COVID-19 protocols over the weekend. Plesac was sent home while Clevinger was quarantined.

Not only did Clevinger admit he had broken the rules at a team meeting Sunday, but he also flew home with his teammates he knew he had.
‘They got us wrong. They left for us, ”Plutko, who began Tuesday in place of Clevinger, sei. ‘They sat here in front of your boys and said in public things they did not follow. ‘
The Indians arranged a car service to take Plesac back to Cleveland so he would not be with his teammates in case he contracted the coronavirus while he was with friends on Saturday, after getting his first win this season with six strong innings against the White Sox.
Clevinger did not acknowledge his misstep for the club and then took the team flight, putting his teammates and staff in danger. One of those teammates is fellow starter Carlos Carrasco, who may have a compromised immune system after being treated for leukemia last year.

Plesac apologized Sunday night to the organization and fans.
“I realize I made a bad choice to leave the hotel, which broke protocols and could have put other people in danger,” he said. “I understand that in these times of uncertainty I need to be more vigilant and responsible and I am determined to earn purposeful forgiveness from my teammates and get back to work.”
“We love Zach and we support him, but he was shocked,” said Indian ace Shane Bieber. ‘What we as a team have been talking about, we need to focus on one thing at a time. We’re going to this own house, and we’ll see where it comes from here. ”
