Natasha Richardson’s son has not “fully understood” her 2009 death: “The pain was too overwhelming”

Natasha Richardson tragically died in 2009 after a ski accident and now her oldest son, Micheál Richardson, is talking about how she is still recovering from the loss of her mother.

The 25-year-old “Made in Italy” star told Vanity Fair in an interview that “the pain was too overwhelming.” Micheál was 13 years old when he died. Her father is actor Liam Neeson.

“I think the mind is very powerful and, unconsciously or unconsciously, it can protect you. That is what it did when it passed away. I just pushed it away and I didn’t want to deal with it,” he said.

She explained that she now appreciates her acting career because she is immortalized on screen. Micheál’s favorite movie with her mother is “The Parent Trap” because it best captured her personality.

“They told me he had brain death. And looking at this x-ray it was like, ‘Wow’. But obviously she was on life support and stuff, “he said by saying goodbye.” And I went to her and said I loved her.
