The red flag went out Sunday at the NASCAR Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway when a pit-road crash temporarily halted the afternoon action and injured a crew member of driver team Ryan Blaney. The pit road crash occurred during the caution competition on lap 16 of the race. The NBC broadcast identified the No. 12 team pit crew member as the Zach Price rear tire changer. Price was changing the tires on Blaney’s car when the accident happened.

Martin Truex, Ryan Blaney, Christopher Bell, Chris Buescher, Ryan Preece, Ricky Stenhouse, Justin Allgaier and Brennan Poole were involved in the crash, according to Matt Weaver of AutoWeek. You can watch the scene below via NASCAR:

While the accident was a scary sight, the good news is that Price appeared to be in good shape afterward, as he gave a thumbs-up as he was loaded into an ambulance.

The red flag lasted just over 11 minutes and then the race was able to start again. The race had already been delayed at the start due to a series of lightning strikes in the vicinity of the track. The price will reportedly be treated for a leg injury.
