A private cargo spacecraft will take off from Virginia on Tuesday (Sept. 2), carrying many new fresh supplies to the International Space Station, including scientific experiments, Estelle Fear to Skincare and a brand new spacecraft.
The mission, known as the Cygnus NG-14, will be delivered on the 14th flight of Northrop Grumman’s robotic Cygnus spacecraft with 7,624 pounds (3,458 kilograms) of cargo and the 13th craft mission redesigned on the International Space Station. Cygnus will launch on September 29 on the Entress rocket. 10:27 pm EDT (0227 am GMT Sept. 30) from NASA’s VPS Options Flight Facility in Virginia from Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport
The Cygnus spacecraft was named S.S. in honor of astronaut Kalpana Chawla, one of seven astronauts killed in the 2003 Columbia shuttle crash. Kalpana has kept Chawla.

“Humanity faces many challenges today, and I am proud to be part of a community that regularly embraces challenges that turn problems solutions and opportunities into reality,” said David Brady, a program scientist who supports NASA’s International Space Station program. , NASA’s International Space Station program support program scientist. The Johnson Space Center in Houston said about the launch during a prelaunch teleconference on Thursday (Sept. 24).
About 8,000 kg. The cargo carried into space by Cygnus will include a crew supply such as food with scientific experiments and a newly improved space toilet, officially called the Universal Waste Management System. The expedition to this cargo space station will be delivered to support the 64 crew, although very soon SpaceX’s Crew 1 astronauts may be able to use some of this cargo, as they are. Starting October 23rd.
Million 23 million space toilets, built from astronaut input, will be among the important experiments and equipment sent with this launch. The toilet is currently 65% smaller and 40% lighter than the one on the space station, NASA officials said.
“The toilet was built to optimize the use of toilets for the female crew, and NASA spent a lot of time working with the crumblers to improve commode use,” said Melissa M. Kinley, NASA’s Advanced Exploration Systems Logistics Reduction Project Manager. Similar teleconferences.
The cargo will also include a root-growing experiment known as Plant Habitat-02; Onco selectors will focus on screening, cancer treatment; A novel water recovery recovery system experiment; A special camera will get mero which is like going to a space station in 360 degree virtual reality; A bottle of skincare serum from Estellar; And much more.
