Grant Imahara He complained of migraines in the days before doctors discovered his brain aneurysm, and emergency surgery, unfortunately, could not save him … TMZ found out.
Sources close to the host family of “MythBusters” tell us … he had been experiencing painful headaches for a few days before Saturday night, when he was dining with his girlfriend at a house in Los Angeles.
We are told that at some point during the meal, Grant’s pain worsened and he felt dizzy, along with severe neck and back pain and numbness in his legs. After he showed signs of not responding, his GF called 911 … we were told this was around 9 PM.
Our sources say that when paramedics arrived, Grant’s vital signs were normal, but that he was still in a lot of pain, so they took him to a hospital. We are told that the doctors soon realized that he had a brain aneurysm and underwent emergency surgery.
Grant survived the surgery, no small feat when it comes to an aneurysm, but we are told that he never fully recovered. He had another operation on Sunday, but again did not respond and was in critical condition.
On Monday, we were told that he had an MRI to prepare for a third surgery … but doctors found that the damage was too severe. Grant was not fully responding and a decision was made to remove him from life support.
