GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Several restaurants and bars in West Michigan are closing again, this time because staff members tested positive for Coronavirus.
So far, FOX 17 has confirmed that Long Road Distillery in Grand Haven, Bostwick Lake Inn near Rockford, and Donkey Taqueria in Grand Rapids are temporarily closing their doors. Each had at least one employee who tested positive for Coronavirus, but the location where they were exposed is still under investigation.
The cases are not surprising to the Kent County Department of Health.
“It’s understandable, people want to get together and hang out and they are going where they can and they will. So we still want people to take precautions, ”said Brian Hartl, Epidemiologist with the Kent County Department of Health.
The real concern for the department is the increasing number of daily cases. On Tuesday, Kent County saw 24 new cases. On Wednesday it rose to 37. On Thursday there were 52.
