Motorola Moto G9 Play seen on Geekbench with a better chip and more RAM

In October of last year, the Moto G8 Play was released by Motorola and now its successor, the Moto G9 Play has apparently been seen in Geekbench (via Nashville Chatter). the G8 Play is a basic phone with a 6.2-inch screen, the Mediatek Helio P70M chipset, a triple camera system, and a 4,000 mAh battery.

According to the Geekbench list, the Moto G9 Play will be powered by a Qualcomm SoC codenamed “guamp”. It is an eight-core processor with a clock speed of 1.80 GHz and is very likely to be a Snapdragon 6XX series silicon. It will be combined with 4 GB of RAM, which is double what the Moto G8 Play offers.

The list also reveals that the phone will ship with Android 10.

Moto G9 Play is largely a mystery these days

That’s all we know about the phone right now, but if the story is an indication, it will be at the bottom of the Moto G9 series and will only be sold in some markets, such as Latin America and India. The price will probably be around $ 250.

Since Motorola is supposedly increasing the RAM count and equipping the phone with a better chip, we can also expect other improvements. This means that the camera system could be better than the 13MP + 8MP + 2MP setting on the G8 Play. Similarly, the 8MP selfie camera could also be upgraded.

The 3.5mm headphone jack will probably be kept and the internal storage may increase to 64GB.

Of course, these are all speculations, but if the phone is to be announced in October as its predecessor, we are likely to hear sooner.
