Most of Rose McGowan’s lawsuits against Harvey Weinstein and his lawyers have been dropped.
Various actors were allowed to proceed with his arguments, however, claiming that he was betrayed after being provoked into revealing details surrounding his memoirs, Variety reports.
In the lawsuit, the pair of Weinstein and Lis Torni, Lisa Bloom and David Boyz, accused McGowan of defamation. It was originally filed in October 2019.
It is claimed that the “charmed” actress met a woman and befriended him, eventually giving him a draft of the star’s memoir. McGowan later discovered that the woman was working for the private intelligence agency Black Cube, which was hired by attorneys.

A memoir titled “Brave” claims that Weinstein sexually assaulted the actress at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival.
The lawsuits also included maternity claims for the purposes of civil racketeering, fraud, invasion of privacy, computer hacking, illegal recording, conversion and emotional harassment.

On Monday, the judge dismissed nine of the 11 lawsuits filed. The law of limitations played a role in dismissing many of the claims, according to outlet reports.
In addition, the star’s civil rico charge was dropped because there was no recurring activity in the alleged plot between the film mogul and his lawyers.
Although two counts of fraud have been settled, the defendants’ attorneys have claimed that the crime was committed by Black Cube, not their clients. The judge sought his involvement in the cause of the Black Cube.

McGowan also accused the fraud of losing her job opportunities and damaging her mental health and professional relationships.

In the end, McGowan was allowed to revise and repeal the dismissed charges.
Delegates for McGowan and Weinstein did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News.
