More than 200 new cases; 9 new dead


PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon Health Authority reported 237 newly confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases on Tuesday.

This brings the total to 23,676.

The new cases include one in Baker, three in Benton, 11 in Clackamas, two in Columbia, five in Deschutes, three in Douglas, two in Hood River, 20 in Jackson, four in Jefferson, eight in Josephine, six in Klamath, two in Lane, one in Lincoln, four in Linn, 32 in Malheur, 48 in Marion, three in Morrow, 29 in Multnomah, three in Polk, 12 in Umatilla, two in Union, one in Wasco, 25 in Washington and 10 in Yamhill .

There are also nine newly reported deaths, bringing the death toll to 397:

  • Oregon’s 389th COVID-19 death is a 63-year-old man in Washington County who died on July 20 and died on August 15 at Tuality Healthcare. He had underlying circumstances.
  • 390. COVID-19 Death of Oregon is an 88-year-old woman in Washington County who tested positive on August 6 and died on August 16 at her residence. She had underlying circumstances.
  • Oregon’s 391st COVID-19 death is a 90-year-old man in Clackamas County who tested positive on Aug. 4 and died on Aug. 11. More information on location of death is confirmed. He had underlying circumstances.
  • Oregon’s 392nd COVID-19 death is an 82-year-old man in Clackamas County who died on July 28 and died on August 16 at Providence Portland Medical Center. He had underlying circumstances.
  • Oregon’s 393rd COVID-19 death is a 75-year-old man in Jefferson County who died on July 28 and died on August 15 in St. Louis. Charles Medical Center. He had underlying circumstances.
  • 394. COVID-19 Death of Oregon is a 97-year-old woman in Lincoln County who tested positive on August 2 and died on August 15 at her residence. Presence of underlying conditions is confirmed.
  • 395. COVID-19 death of Oregon is a 90-year-old man in Lincoln County who tested positive on August 2 and died on August 14 at his residence. Presence of underlying conditions is confirmed.
  • 396. COVID-19 Death of Oregon is a 63-year-old man in Malheur County who tested positive on August 11 and died on August 12 at his residence. He had underlying circumstances.
  • 397. COVID-19 death of Oregon is a 69-year-old woman in Washington County who became symptomatic on August 5, after close contact with a confirmed case, and died on August 17 in her hometown. She had underlying circumstances.
