More than 20 COVID-19 related deaths were reported over the weekend in San Antonio, Bexar County


SAN ANTONIO – COVID-19 related deaths climb through in San Antonio and Bexar County, as indicated by figures on the city’s San Antonio website.

With 10 deaths reported on Saturday and 13 additional deaths confirmed on Sunday, a total of 23 COVID-19 related deaths were announced over the weekend.

On Sunday, Bexar County’s COVID-19 increased property taxes as the city announced 252 additional COVID-19 cases.

The additional cases bring the cumulative total of Bexar County to 42,873 cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

Thirteen more deaths from COVID-19 were confirmed, bringing the death toll to 445.

Officials reported 738 residents of Bexar County are hospitalized due to COVID-19, down from 743 on Saturday. Of those patients, 322 are in the intensive care unit and 220 patients are on ventilators.

Figures released by city officials indicate that 15% of manned hospital beds and 52% of ventilators are available in Bexar County.
