More rocket players are facing quarantine amid COVID problems

The Houston Rockets’ COVID-19 issues continue.

According to Athletic’s Shams Charania, a staff member of the Rockets tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday, which resulted in many players having to be quarantined for seven days due to contact tracing protocol.

According to the report, both John and Wall and his cousin Demarcus must be kept separate. Eric Gordon is also reported to be involved.

Cousins were also not happy about the news coming on social media.

The Rockets season opener is already on hold

The Rockets’ original season opener was scheduled for Wednesday, although it was postponed due to coronavirus concerns after Houston star James Harden and others violated the league’s protocol.

A video aired on social media this week showing Hardon allegedly in a strip club without a mask. He denied that he was there, instead claiming that he was soon at a private event.

Either way, the league fined him $ 50,000 for violating his coronavirus protocol by participating in a “private indoor party”, leading to his required quarantine. He needs to be separated by Friday. Commissioner Adam Silver told ESPN on Thursday that Harden was “lucky in a way” and was not suspended in part because “it’s Christmas” and was his first offense.

Harden was not alone in breaking the protocol. Seven other Houston players were unable to take to court for their scheduled opener on Wednesday.

A group of players, including Wall, cousins and Canyon Martin Jr., reported that haircuts were coming into an apartment Tuesday night. Three of those seven players returned with either a positive or inconclusive test result, forcing all seven to stand out.

With more players facing a mandatory week-long quarantine, it’s not clear when the Rockets will actually take the court and start the season. Saturday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers is now in jeopardy.
