After a day and a half of further negotiations between NBC Universal and Roku, the two companies announced on Friday that Mor would be available on Roku “in the coming weeks”. Now it looks like we’re getting closer to seeing if the app is available to Roku users.
A cord cutter news reader shared that Moore is now available as a private Roku channel with PECOC code. Private channels, also called hidden channels, are now available in the Roku channel store but usually with code, must be added manually.
To add a channel, start by signing up for a peacock subscription. After that, login to your Roku account and click here to navigate to Mor Roku channel. If you are prompted to enter a code, enter PEACOCK. The channel will be installed on your Roku device and you will be able to sign in to your Peacock account to start streaming.
We’ve heard from both companies that the deal is ready to launch soon, but this is the first step before it can be launched. Since this is a private channel, it probably means that Mor and Roku are testing the app and working out any bugs that can be resolved before making the app widely available. It also means that the channel can be removed at any time.
While we’ll have to wait for Peacock’s availability through the Channel Store, it’s an option for Roku users who are eager to start watching Peacock Origins, NBC sitcoms or US Open Highlights.
