Mom speaks after 22-year-old Utah man dies of COVID-19 complications

SALT LAKE CITY – Health experts worry that strict recommendations to Governor Gary Herbert’s office fees may have fallen on deaf ears, while about 650 Utahns have died from the disease.

“He thought he had a really bad flu,” Heather Edwards said.

Keegan Thierry Covid-19 is one of the youngest Utahns to die from complications. He was admitted to the ICU on his 22nd birthday.

“She started having delusions,” said Edwards, Keegan’s mother, in San Diego, California, who complained of severe migraines. He had been complaining of migraine for many days at this place. “

The Logan man’s brain swelled significantly due to the virus. Keegan fell into a coma. On 24 Oct October, doctors pronounced him brain dead.

“We just waited half an hour and they said he had breathed his last and was pronounced dead,” Edwards said.

His mother said her son is young, healthy and not at high risk.

“Just get excited and get out of there. Test adulthood and enjoy it. He was a good kid, “said Edwards.

With cases and deaths skyrocketing, a coalition of health experts made recommendations to state leaders.

“Right now, we must stop all social interactions, from gatherings, extended family gatherings, parties, to weddings. It may sound cruel, but it is a fact, “said Dr. Infectious Diseases. Said Todd Vento.

Dr. Vento believes that most Utah industries and schools are doing their part. Yet, in a meeting with state leaders and the White House Task Force last weekend, he feared that strict science-based recommendations would not be taken seriously.

“I’m really disappointed. I’m as honest as I’m here. People who have left these rooms used the visit as a way to confirm their visit,” said Dr. Vento.

The governor’s office told Fox 13 that “they are currently discussing the next step and at the moment, everything is on the table.”

Keegan’s mom hopes the plan includes compassion.

“It simply came to our notice then. If we take care, we take care of each other and if we take care of each other and take care of each other, we will do the things that keep him careful and smart, ”Edwards said.

Governor Herbert’s office fees are expected to be announced Monday.
