Call of Duty players have apparently discovered some hidden movement speed benefits after trying out the Merc Foregrip weapon accessory in Modern Warfare and Warzone.
Introducing charges in Modern Warfare provides players with many ways to customize their weapon the way they want.
Unlike previous Call of Duty titles, the latest Infinity Ward release also offers multiple variations of weapon attachments, with different barrels, stocks, grips, and more available for players to add to their weapons.
Secret upgrade with Merc Foregrip
Each of these unique accessories can add and detract from a weapon’s stats, such as Aim Down (ADS), speed, range, and recoil, forcing them to choose the charges that best suit their preferred playstyle.
However, it looks like one of these attachments might be a little stronger than originally anticipated, after Modern Warfare players. discovered some unusual stats with Merc Foregrip.
After testing an Uzi, once without attachments, and once with Merc Foregrip, CoD YouTuber KRNG JGOD revealed that his character could run faster with Merc Foregrip, claiming that he secretly improves your movement speed in the game.
When did you know that Merc Foregrip increases the weapon’s movement speed by 3% or more? Just more hidden weapon stats. #ModernWarfare pic.twitter.com/H6JKj5rMIX

The Merc Foregrip accessory is generally seen on assault rifles and SMGs in Warzone or Modern Warfare and is said to increase recoil control and hip fire accuracy.
This attachment is also meant to hinder your mobility, decreasing both your target’s movement speed while walking and downward-pointing speed, however the same does not appear to be true for your character’s movement speed, which is not mentioned in the game.
While Merc Foregrip apparently only increases movement speed by about 3%, it could still make a difference by trying to escape the gas or evade in-game shooting.
Infinity Ward has yet to address Merc Foregrip’s “hidden weapon stats”, though they are likely to seek to fix or clarify changes to one of their upcoming patches, if in fact it is not intentional.
