Modern Warfare Leak Teases Return of Black Ops’ Frank Woods

It turns out that Frank Woods is out Call of Duty: Black Ops could appear in Call of Duty Modern Warfare. Voice lines belonging to Woods were discovered in the audio files of the game, which were apparently added in Modern warfareThe update of season four. At this time, it is unknown how Woods may appear in the game. After all, Black Ops takes place during the Cold War, meanwhile Modern warfare is set during the current. The audio lines were apparently discovered by @GeekyPastimes and shared via the @ModernWarzone Twitter account. As of this writing, no official details regarding Woods’ presence have been revealed by Activision as developer Infinity Ward.

There are a handful of ways that Woods could be included in the game. The location of Verdansk has a history with the Cold War, so an update could explore a connection between Woods and Verdansk. It’s also possible that Woods has no narrative connection, and will be added to promote the next Call of Duty game. That particular game has not yet been officially announced, but rumor has it that it’s Black Ops again. If that’s the case, players will probably see the return of Frank Woods soon!

It is currently unknown when Activision and Infinity Ward will release the next Call of Duty title, but it appears the game will be released this Easter Call of Duty: Warzone. Last month, the Xbox Store also posted a mention for what appeared to be the Call of Duty 2020 alpha. The mention was for The Red Door, which is apparently the code name Activision has used for the upcoming game. The Red Door title really attracts Cold War images! Combined with the upcoming performance of Frank Woods, it looks like the whole picture is coming into focus!
