MLB Trade Deadline 2020: Live Updates, Rumors for Mike Clevinger with Pedres; Lance Lynn lays down

The 2020 Major League Baseball trade deadline passed at 4pm ET on Monday. With the coronavirus shut down and the 60-game season shortened, teams had only five weeks to evaluate their roster, and only four weeks before the playoffs. There wasn’t much time to make decisions and there wouldn’t be much time to cut the rewards of that decision. Unlike last year, this season will not feature a waiver-wire trading period after any deadline.

This is the last day for teams to trade and improve their roster, both short-term (buyers focused this year) or long-term (sellers looking to the future) or both. After today, the Raster Stars will mostly be set for the rest of 2020. There will be no other opportunities for significant upgrades.

The last few days have been slow on the trade front with the exception of the San Diego Pedres, which struck again on Monday morning. Getting right starter Mike Clevinger from Cleveland Package exchanges include outfielder Josh Nylor, right-hander Cal Contral, and shortstop Gabriel Areas.

Former Marlins president David Samson broke Monday’s deadline on the latest something personal with David Samson. Listen below:

Several other proceedings were held on Monday. Here is a complete list of notable trades from the deadline:
